    What IS Interesting...

There have been several comments on my blog and outside the blog about the recent HP product launch.  They point out the fact that that HP is just catching with Oce and Cannon.  What is interesting is the race to have faster production color machines.

What I believe is most interesting is not faster ink-jet printers but the discontinuous innovation that Memjet announced and HP's Edgeline technology.  This will change the rules of the game.  For anyone interested in this market phenomenon.  I encourage you to read Clayton Christianson's book the Innovators Dilemma.  This new technology offers a radical new price performance ratio that has the potential to seriously disrupt the current market.  Bill McGlynn Memjet's Chief Executive claims that even with this unprecedented speed there is tremendous room for improvement.  He claims they will be increasing the print speed sixfold in the next two to three years
